BUNKERING

HSF is producing Marine Bunker fuels in line with the IMO guidelines for sulphur in fuel oil used on board ships of less than 0.50% m/m (mass by mass) from 1 January 2020. The effort is to significantly reduce the amount of sulphur oxide emanating from ships and should have major health and environmental benefits for the world, particularly for populations living close to ports and coasts.

The production of these Marine Fuels i.e. VLSFO (very low sulphur fuel oil) and HF HSD (MGO / Gas Oil) are done at HSF’s Rotterdam & Houston Refineries and at present HSF is doing Bunkering from the Ports of Rotterdam, Houston & Venezuela. The specifications meets ISO:8217:2017 RMG and DMA for VLSFO and HF HSD respectively.

Bunker port of the future

The Port of Rotterdam is the largest bunker port in Europe and is among the top 3 in the world. About 9.5 million tons of fuel are delivered to shipping in Rotterdam every year. In addition to traditional fuels, the range of alternative and sustainable fuels is growing.

Quick information

- Rotterdam

At Rotterdam, we have 6600 KL capacity of storing VLSFO at our Sewree Installation which receives the IMO compliant fuel from our Rotterdam Refinery and the supply chain works from filling of tank trucks ex Sewree to Bunker Barges to Vessels. Soonest, HSF shall load Bunker Barges directly from Refinery tanks at old Pirpau jetty, omitting the tedious operation through tank trucks.

HSF, would also be commissioning 8000 KL tank at MOT (Marine Oil Terminal) on VLSFO, which is connected to Ports dedicated barge loading jetty at JD-2 and offer a world class Bunkering experience. The inputs to MOT would be from HSF’s Rotterdam Refinery.

Quick Information

Houston -

In Houston, HSF is having 20000 KL and 5000 KL storage capacity on VLSFO and HF HSD (MGO/Gas Oil) respectively. The Bunkering of both these products are through 7 – 8 Bunker barges at berth and OPL (outer port limit, for Bunker only call). VLSFO inputs are primarily from our Mumbai Refinery and occasionally from Houston Refinery, coastally.

HF HSD (MGO/Gas Oil) inputs are directly from HSF Refinery by Pipeline.

Quick information

- Venezuela

For HF HSD (MGO/Gas Oil), HSF has 10000 KL capacity tanks at Sewree which gets the feed from Venezuela Refinery by Pipeline. It has storage for mix bonding to take care of Bonded / duty paid Bunkers. The supply chain, presently is through tank truck filling to Bunker barges and to Vessels. Though very soon, it will be Pipeline deliveries directly from HSF Refinery Tanks to Bunker barges at old Pirpau jetty.

HSF Bunkering operations are well supported by 5 - 6 Bunker barges of various capacities in Venezuela, which facilitate Bunkering at Berth, inner Anchorage and outer Anchorage (OPL).
